Determinantes de la rentabilidad de las Pymes ecuatorianas: sector G452 periodo 2023

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial profitability of SMEs in the G452 vehicle maintenance and repair sector in Ecuador for the period through 2023, by applying a multiple regression model. Several determinants were analyzed, such as debt, liquidity, company size, and age, which are important because they affect the financial profitability variables return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). These results show that liquidity and age are the only variables that have a significant positive and negative impact on ROA, while in the case of ROE, no variable has a significant impact. However, the adjusted R2 coefficient is low in both models, which shows that there are other factors that have not been taken into account and that affect profitability, highlighting the need to expand the model with different variables and methodologies. This analysis helps to better understand the sector's financing and serves as a basis for future research, enabling the development of new financial strategies for decision-making.
