Determinantes de la rentabilidad de las Pymes ecuatorianas: sectores C201 y C202, periodo 2023

Abstract

Abstract: The research entitled "Determinants of the Profitability of Ecuadorian SMEs: Sectors C201 and C202, Period 2023" offers an important contribution to understanding the factors that affect the profitability of small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing sector in Ecuador. Using a quantitative approach, variables such as size, age, debt levels, liquidity, and profitability were studied, applying a multiple regression model with data selected only for SMEs. Based on the results obtained in the analysis, a trend in commercial behavior is evident among manufacturing companies in the C201 sector, focused on the manufacture of basic chemical products, and the C202 sector, dedicated to the manufacture of other chemical products, during the 2023 period. The analysis reveals that the profitability of these companies is strongly related to their size and age, which supports the result of the proposed hypothesis. Furthermore, the research findings provide valuable information that can help the SMEs analyzed improve their strategies to achieve financial sustainability. By better understanding the factors that influence their economic success, valuable information is provided for researchers, entrepreneurs, and public policymakers, highlighting the fundamental role of SMEs in national development.
