Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on the analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their connection with criminal law and ruling No. 2113-15-EP/21 issued by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador for the crime of attempted homicide, which reformulates the charges for bodily harm, as defined in Article 465 of the Penal Code. To learn more about the SDGs, the background, progress, and obstacles are presented. Additionally, a brief analysis of SDG No. 16 and its targets, as well as legal doctrine and frameworks that protect rights such as access to justice, effective judicial protection, due process, and legal certainty, rights protected by SDG No. 16, is presented. Chapter two presents the methodology applied in this thesis, chapter three presents the analysis of the results, chapter four presents the discussion, and concluding with the conclusions, recommendations, and bibliographic references used in this work. This research has been important in connecting it with the SDGs, which aim to achieve fair and equitable societies for all by 2030.
