| dc.description | Resumen: La investigación analiza el impacto de la exportación de banano en la economía ecuatoriana entre 1990 y 2023, enfocándose en su influencia sobre el PIB, el empleo y la balanza comercial. En la investigación se optó por realizar un enfoque cuantitativo, además de ello el alcance fue explicativo y no experimental de índole longitudinal, para lo cual fueron utilizadas bases de datos correspondientes al Banco Central del Ecuador, FAO, e INEC. Se utilizó un análisis descriptivo y de regresión lineal, tomando como referencia los valores FOB de las exportaciones de banano en relación a las exportaciones no petroleras tradicionales. Estos resultados evidenciaron que existe una correlación entre las exportaciones de banano y el crecimiento de la economía ecuatoriana. Asimismo, se identificaron los principales destinos de exportación y se analizó la evolución estructural del banano en el comercio internacional. El estudio concluye que este rubro constituye un producto insignia del país, y aporta fundamentos empíricos para diseñar políticas económicas que refuercen la competitividad del sector en el contexto global. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: This research analyzes the impact of banana exports on the Ecuadorian economy between 1990 and 2023, focusing on their influence on GDP, employment, and the trade balance. The research opted for a quantitative approach. The scope was explanatory rather than longitudinal, using databases from the Central Bank of Ecuador, FAO, and INEC. Descriptive and linear regression analysis was used, using the FOB values of banana exports relative to traditional non-oil exports as a reference. These results showed a correlation between banana exports and the growth of the Ecuadorian economy. In addition, the main export destinations were identified, and the structural evolution of bananas in international trade was analyzed. The study concludes that this sector represents a flagship product of the country and provides empirical foundations for the development of economic policies aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the sector in the global context. | es_ES |
