Abstract:This study analyzes the economic-financial structure of Grupo 24 companies in Guayaquil, province of Guayas, during the period 2017-2022, in order to compare the dynamics of growth and performance between different sectors and business sizes. A review of the companies registry reveals that Guayaquil added 216 new companies between 2017 and 2022, a net increase of 55% that brought the total from 394 to 610. The service companies took almost all the prominence in the last review: more than half of the total, period after period, and that paints a rather digital and varied picture. In the numbers game, the big corporations were left with the 85th of the pie in assets and with the 73rd in revenues during 2022, so it shows that they are taking the helm. The microenterprises, although still in a daily struggle, announced a jump of 35 in their sales, something that sounds happy but that does not cover the debts that they still have hanging. SMEs are in a tepid spot; the ratios say that they are adapting to the new wave and the effort seems greater than it looks. The funny thing is that the return on equity of the giants rose to 16.85, so they gain muscle in operations. Trade and construction celebrated for domestic demand and the recovery; on the other hand, agriculture and mining barely stretched the pace.
