Abstract

Abstract: This project, entitled "Academic Preferences of Law Students and Their Connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Through the Study of Judgments," conducts a case-based study to identify graduates' academic prospects and their learning affinity for legal issues that have a social impact. A jurisprudential analysis is conducted of Judgment No. 2693-16-EP/21, handed down by Judge Teresa Nuques Martínez of the Constitutional Court. This judgment was issued within the framework of an extraordinary protection action filed by Mr. Erwin Vicente Guamán Gualpa against the December 16, 2016, ruling by the Sole Chamber of the Provincial Court of Orellana, which ruled to reject the proposed constitutional action and ordered its dismissal. The plaintiff alleges that the ruling violates legal certainty under Article 82 and due process in the guarantee of motivation under Article 10. 76.7.l) of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador. This ruling is linked to SDG 16 "Peace, justice, and strong institutions," which protects the right to legal security.
