Abstract

Abstract: This research analyzes the state of well-being in Ecuador during the period 2007 2017, focusing on its economic characteristics, scope, and limitations. To this end, several theoretical and doctrinal approaches regarding growth and poverty, as well as the country s economic situation, are examined. Relevant studies from the period under analysis are reviewed, and a descriptive mixed-method approach is applied, as both qualitative and quantitative variables related to economic growth and poverty in Ecuador are considered. The findings are consistent with the reviewed literature and reveal a statistically significant inverse relationship between economic growth and poverty measured by income. This suggests that as the economy expands, poverty levels tend to decrease. However, it is important to note that a portion of the population continues to live in conditions of extreme poverty, reflecting the persistent challenges in addressing this issue. The purpose of this research is to contribute evidence that may guide the design and implementation of economic policies aimed at promoting the overall well-being of the population. Data from institutions such as the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) and the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE) were essential in achieving the study s objectives.
