Abstract

Abstract: This research addresses the topic of academic preferences and their connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the study of court rulings. Therefore, the general objective was to understand the factors that influence UTPL law graduates to develop preferences for specific areas of legal science and their future specialization in them. This research is specifically based on the study of Court Ruling No. 393-17-EP. Regarding the methods, the systemic, analysis and synthesis, and exegetic approaches were used. Regarding the techniques, the following were used: indexing (informative and linking), court ruling analysis, and research of different types of documents. The conclusion reached in the research is that law students prefer criminal law and criminal procedure law, becoming interested in more specific elements based on their experience and their own understanding of what law and the practice of law should be.
