Factores asociados al desgaste en cuidadores formales de la ciudad de Quito durante el año 2024

Abstract

Abstract: The general objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with burnout in formal caregivers in the Southeast and East sector of the Quito city during 2024. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlacional methodology was used; the sample consisted of formal carevigers from private and public sector institutions in the Southeast and East sector of the country and the following evaluation instrumnets were used: As-Hoc Sociodemographic and Occupational Questionnaire, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQOL V), Caregiver Burden Interview (Revuelta y Andújar, 2005), Empathy Burnout Syndrome Scale (IDE), and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Amoug the most relevant results, it was found that 96,6% had no significant workload, 79,3% with medium and high levels of personal fulfillment and an average of 10,41 points in empathy burnout. It is concluded that, there are partial manifestations of burnout in formal caregivers, since there ir evidence of medium levels of empathy burnout; however, mosto f the sample does not have workload and reports medium-high levels of personal fulfillment, as a favorable state for work wellbeing.
