Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research work is to know what factors influence the choice of Legal Sciences students regarding specific branches of Law, through the investigative analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and in relation to a selected statement. For this purpose, ruling No. 159-11-JH/19 of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador was studied, in which it describes the illegal detention of the foreign citizen of Cuban nationality named José Antonio Olivera San Miguel, where it can be evidenced that there has been violation of several constitutional and universal rights, such as the right to work, the right to migrate, the right to humanitarian assistance, but especially the right to freedom. Currently, discrimination in access to justice for migrants is notorious, which is why it is necessary to create public policies that allow their development within our territory, such as access to education for migrant adults as well as for children. It is also important to eradicate child labor that is taking place before the eyes of all citizens and authorities and the National Police, preventing the goals established in the Sustainable Development Goals from being met.
