Estudio del clima de seguridad ocupacional en la ferretería Lima Hmns (Construcción - PYMES)

Abstract

Abstract: Occupational safety in hardware stores is often an underestimated aspect, despite the fact that these establishments present various risks. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the workplace safety climate using the NOSACQ-50 questionnaire, a validated tool for measuring perceptions and attitudes toward workplace safety. The research was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach and was conducted in the hardware sector of the city of Yantzaza. 50 workers participated, distributed into 12 people belonging to the management area and 38 to the operational staff. The questionnaire, distributed in seven dimensions, identified generally low scores with an average of 2.78, indicating a fairly low work climate in need of improvement and highlighting important areas for improvement such as: Management Safety Justice, Management Safety Empowerment, Worker Safety Priority, and Risk of Non acceptance. Scores below 2.70 indicated a low level with great need for improvement, revealing a completely different perception of workers toward management regarding the lack of organizational commitment.
