Abstract

Abstract: Sustainable Development Goal 16 seeks peace, justice, and strong institutions. Effective judicial protection is justice, and from it, the other goals are implemented, such as peace, which seeks the well-being of people without conflict. This leads us to have strong institutions that combat corruption, so it is important that all citizens have access to effective and fair justice. However, there is a lot of corruption on the part of judges and higher authorities, as most people have not had access to justice due to the lack of accountability and professionalism of the authorities, resulting in poor jurisprudence. Other problems include economic factors, the inability to cover expenses such as fees, the time factor, and lack of knowledge of the legal process. An analysis showed that complaints are more common and present many barriers due to their private nature, and the economic factor significantly influences them. However, it is an essential tool to prevent, maintain, and protect violated rights.
