Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the occupational hazards that may occur in the construction of the JC Building, located in the city of Cariamanga, Calvas canton, province of Loja. Through a structured method, identifying the risks, evaluating them and proposing preventive measures, the objective is to identify the hazards in the different workstations, evaluate the associated risks and propose effective preventive measures. To achieve this objective, methodologies established by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (INSST) were applied, following a scheme of Hazard Identification, Evaluation and Risk Control (IPERC). Hazards were identified at various stages of the project, analyzing their probability and severity to classify the risks into moderate, important and intolerable categories. The results highlight the need to adopt specific preventive measures, such as training, active supervision and the implementation of risk management systems. This study not only seeks to minimize occupational accidents and diseases, but also to strengthen occupational safety and health in the construction sector, aligning with current regulations and promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
