Preferencias académicas de los estudiantes de la Carrera de Derecho y su vinculación con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) a través del estudio de sentencia

Abstract

Abstract: This curricular integration work analyzes the academic preferences of law students and their relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), specifically SDG 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions). The study uses a mixed methodological approach, including a review of the literature, jurisprudence (with a detailed analysis of a ruling from the Constitutional Court of Ecuador), surveys and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. In addition, this work investigates the reasons that they lead students to choose certain areas of law, the skills they acquire and how these are linked to the resolution of global problems, the implications of COVID-19 on the practice of law and the current state of Ecuadorian public policies are examined. related to SDG 16, the analysis of the ruling shows the violation of fundamental rights and how access to justice can be improved, as well as the impact on legal security and personal identity. Finally, this study concludes with recommendations to improve the training of future lawyers and strengthen the justice system of Ecuador.
