Abstract

Abstract: This paper analyzes the ruling of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in the case "Olivares Muñoz et al. vs. Venezuela," which holds the Venezuelan state responsible for the enforced disappearance of three siblings, violating their fundamental rights to life, personal integrity, and access to justice. Comprehensive reparation and non-repetition measures were established. The ruling also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 5, which refers to the right to life and personal integrity, as it highlights the physical and psychological violence to which all the subjects of law involved in this investigation were subjected. This case therefore provides an opportunity to learn how judicial decisions enable the fulfillment of social justice and global objectives, encouraging more and more students to develop a natural interest in this area of law, such as human rights; therefore, it responds to the overall objective of this paper.
