Abstract

Abstract: This project analyzes the application of the principle of speed in the summary procedure established by the General Organic Code of Processes (Asamblea Nacional del Ecuador, 2015) in Ecuador, with emphasis on its impact on the efficiency of the judicial system and the guarantee of the fundamental rights of the procedural parties. The principle of speed seeks to ensure that judicial processes are developed quickly and without undue delay, thus promoting timely access. The research addresses the COGEP regulatory and procedural mechanisms that promote speed, as well as the benefits and challenges derived from its implementation, such as the need to balance speed and due process. The study is based on a qualitative methodology, using documentary review, interviews with judicial operators and analysis of specific cases. Through this analysis, we seek to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the application of the principle of speed in the COGEP oral system, proposing strategies that optimize its effectiveness and contribute to the strengthening of the administration of justice in Ecuador, guaranteeing efficient processes.
