Abstract

Abstract: This study presents the design and implementation of an automated system for managing and timing cycling competitions, with the objective of increasing accuracy and efficiency in event organization. At present, the Provincial Sports Federation of Carchi still relies on manual procedures to record competitors times, a practice that often results in mistakes, inconsistencies in classifications, and delays in publishing official results. As a response, the proposed system enables the automated recording of times, the generation of reliable rankings, and real-time management of competition data. By centralizing information, it supports the work of judges and timekeepers, while also offering athletes immediate and trustworthy feedback on their performance. The adoption of this technological solution represents a significant step toward the digitalization of competitive cycling in the province. It strengthens institutional management, improves transparency in results, and provides a foundation for modernizing traditional processes. In this way, the system benefits both event organizers and competitors by ensuring fairer, more efficient, and reliable competition management.
