Abstract:Journalism and the media are essential for the formation of public opinion and the development of societies, so that this research seeks to analyze the main changes and their impact, for this we used two instruments, the first to learn about the situation of the media company, the second on the welfare of the profession of journalists and communicators, it could be said that the staff of the media is not complete, also 35% of the staff who work has a third level degree in communication, and only 60% of respondents have a valid employment contract and are affiliated to the IESS, and only 60% of those surveyed have a valid labor contract and are affiliated to the IESS, For this reason it is necessary to strengthen and adapt to new realities the existing legal frameworks, aimed at improving the conditions of the media and communicators, also it is necessary to implement and disseminate new offers of undergraduate, graduate and training, to strengthen and update academic training to increase employability and working conditions, considering the increase of insecurity in the country, it is necessary institutional articulation and formulate a security plan for the protection of communicators and journalists.
