Abstract

Abstract: In the current so-called urban century, the majority of the population lives in cities, highlighting the urgent need to return to humanity's primitive relationship with nature. The lack of unplanned and accessible green areas in the Quinara and Yangana parishes is evident. Therefore, this thesis proposes a green infrastructure system to guide the planning and conservation of green areas and biodiversity, considering a system of scales that articulates the natural, peripheral, and urban environments. This allows for an environmental balance that moves toward sustainability through green infrastructure elements that contribute to creating more sustainable and resilient cities. The implemented methodology is based on an analysis using base cartography, site analysis, and the use of geographic information systems. Different strategies and action scenarios are proposed based on the environment, with the objective of meeting the needs of inhabitants and improving their living conditions, promoting a more balanced and sustainable environment.
