Abstract

Abstract: Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) seeks to promote peaceful, just and inclusive societies, which are fundamental to achieving sustainable development. This goal focuses on reducing violence, providing access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels. Its goals include strengthening the rule of law, fighting corruption and organized crime, as well as promoting inclusive and representative participation in decision-making. The work done around SDG 16 contributes significantly to development by fostering social cohesion, ensuring human rights and laying the foundations for sustainable and equitable economic growth. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of alliances and international cooperation to build just and resilient systems. The integration of this goal into global policies and strategies provides solutions to cross-cutting challenges that affect other SDGs, highlighting their relevance in contexts of conflict, poverty and inequality. SDG 16 is essential to achieve societies where peace, trust and equity prevail.
