| Abstract: | Abstract: The research topic addressed is "Academic Preferences of Law Students and Their Connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)." This topic analyzes the importance and impact of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Promoting Just, Peaceful, and Inclusive Societies within the context of the Ecuadorian judicial system. Furthermore, the study of Ruling No. 50-21-CN/22 of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador highlights the need for a criminal justice system that not only imposes punishment but also rehabilitates and reintegrates defendants into society. This research also prevents violations of individual rights and thus respects due process. The research reveals persistent challenges in the implementation of public policies related to the fight against corruption, impunity, and insecurity. It also underscores the importance of integrating disciplines to enrich the practice of law. The thesis concludes with recommendations to strengthen judicial independence and improve the efficiency of the justice system. |
| Description: | Resumen: El tema de investigación a tratar se denomina Preferencias académicas de los estudiantes de la carrera de Derecho y su vinculación con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), dentro del cual se analiza la importancia y el impacto del Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) N° 16. Promover sociedades justas, pacíficas e inclusivas, en el contexto del sistema judicial ecuatoriano. Además, con el estudio de la sentencia No. 50-21-CN/22 de la Corte Constitucional del Ecuador, se destaca la necesidad de un sistema penal que no solo imponga un castigo, sino que también rehabilite y reintegre a la sociedad a los procesados dentro de cada causa, sino también, que se evite la vulneración de los derechos de las personas y así respetar el debido proceso. La investigación revela desafíos persistentes en la implementación de políticas públicas relacionadas con la lucha contra la corrupción, la impunidad y la inseguridad. Así también, se subraya la importancia sobre la integración de disciplinas para enriquecer la práctica del Derecho. La tesis concluye con recomendaciones para fortalecer la independencia judicial y mejorar la eficiencia del sistema judicial. |
