Abstract

Abstract: This research, entitled Feasibility study for the expansion of the infrastructure of the Alamor Basic Hospital, Puyango canton, Loja, 2025, aimed to conduct a thorough evaluation of the technical, economic, and financial feasibility of the proposed expansion, with the purpose of supporting its implementation as a viable, sustainable intervention aligned with the health needs of the cantons of Puyango, Pindal, and Celica. The study was carried out in the city of Alamor, using secondary information from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), and institutional records of the hospital. The applied methodology was based on a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design and descriptive scope. Analytical and deductive methods were used, along with techniques such as document analysis and structured observation. The instruments included data collection forms and technical and financial evaluation matrices. The results show a growing demand for medical services and critical limitations in infrastructure, equipment, and human resources. It is concluded that the expansion is feasible and represents a strategic solution to improve equitable and efficient access to health services.
