Abstract

Abstract: This scientific article aims to examine the impact of public policies on citizen security on strengthening or weakening the institutional legitimacy of the Ecuadorian State in recent years. It is based on the hypothesis that the security tactics implemented by the national government have directly influenced citizens' perceptions of the effectiveness and legitimacy of the institutions responsible for public order. The methodology employed is a mixed-methods approach that integrates both quantitative and qualitative elements, allowing for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from multiple dimensions, with the aim of achieving a deeper and more contextualized understanding.
