Calidad del empleo para Latinoamérica: evidencia por grupos de edad Paraguay

Abstract

Abstract: The present thesis aims to analyze and describe the quality of employment in Paraguay during the fourth quarter of 2024, with an emphasis on its distribution across age groups. Data from the Continuous Permanent Household Survey (EPHC), the social security Institute (IPS), and the labor Observatory of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security (MTESS) will be used. Key Indicators of employment quality will be analyzed, including: Income, type of contract, affiliation with social security, and hours worked, classified by age groups. The target population for the analysis will be defined as individuals from youth over 15 years old to adults over 65 years old. To understand the purpose of this research it is necessary to define employment quality, as this concept will serve as the basic for analyzing data from Paraguay s labor market, such as: the informal employment rate at 51,4%, the unemployment rate at 6,9%, labor precariousness affecting 75% of salaried women and 89,4% of self-employed women, and the fact that 85%of the population lacks social security coverage.
