Análisis de la calidad de agua potable en red proveniente del sistema Curitroje Chontacruz de la ciudad de Loja Ecuador desde el enfoque de cumplimiento de los ODS

Abstract

Abstract: This Curriculum Integration project analyzes the drinking water quality in the Curitroje-Chontacruz distribution network in the city of Loja, Ecuador, from the perspective of fulfilling Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. The research combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies. In the technical sphere, control points were defined in the upper, middle, and lower zones of the network, where sampling and physicochemical and microbiological analyses were carried out in the laboratories of UTPL, considering pH, residual chlorine, and coliforms as the main parameters. The results were obtained by calculating the Water Quality Index in Distribution Networks (ICARD), a tool that allowed for the detection of structural and operational vulnerabilities in the system. Surveys were also administered to users and technical personnel to evaluate public perception and compare it with the technical results. The findings revealed a deficiency in the stability of physical and chemical parameters. Therefore, it was concluded that the system requires improved monitoring to meet SDG 6.
