Análisis temporal y espacial del Índice de condición del pavimento (IRI) en la vía Loja - Oña

Abstract:This study primarily aims to determine the variation in pavement roughness of the E35 road axis, specifically the Loja-Oña section, from "El Redondel del Libro" to the Central Park of San Felipe de Oña. The road material in the study section is rigid pavement. The Roughometer III software and equipment will be used to obtain the IRI (International Roughness Index), which will then be analyzed according to the tables provided by the Ecuadorian Road Standards (NEVI). The analysis will also be limited by the software and equipment used in the study, and the results will be classified according to the tables. During three days of evaluation of the Loja-Oña section in both directions, all three journeys were classified as "Regular." According to the NEVI standard (Ecuadorian Road Regulations), with IRI values ​​ranging from 4.3 m/km to 5.2 m/km, the IRI values ​​were obtained maintaining a speed range of between 40 and 60 km/h. In the first measurement period, an IRI of 4.4 m/km was obtained in the outbound direction and 4.3 m/km in the return direction. Subsequently, in the second evaluation period, values ​​of 4.5 m/km were obtained in both directions. Finally, in the last measurement period, values ​​of 5.2 m/km were obtained in both directions.
