Análisis bibliométrico de la Economía Circular en Sudamérica usando VOSviewer

Abstract

Abstract: The Circular Economy (CE) is emerging as a fundamental approach to promoting environmentally sustainable production and consumption models, especially in regions like South America, where the transition to new economic development models presents significant challenges. In this context, this thesis conducts a bibliometric analysis of CE research to identify the main trends, knowledge gaps, and collaboration networks in the region. The VOSviewer tool and the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases were used to analyze a total of 3,635 research articles. The study highlights Brazil as the country with the highest scientific output, with collaborations at both the national and international levels. A growing trend was identified in studies focused on waste management and resource utilization, such as biochemical and bioengineering processes. The results of this research provide relevant information for researchers seeking to promote sustainable development in the region.
