Abstract

Abstract: The present study addresses the development of a web-based system for the management of a dental clinic, applying the agile methodology Extreme Programming (XP) as the main approach for the development process. The fundamental stages of XP are described, emphasizing software planning through the definition of epics and user stories, which made it possible to identify and prioritize system requirements in a clear and organized manner. Likewise, the implementation of the system is detailed using the Laravel framework, which facilitated the structured development of the web software, contributing to the scalability and security of the application. In addition, XP practices oriented toward continuous improvement and software quality were applied. As part of quality assurance, XP and the V mini-model were used to carry out unit and integration testing, ensuring the correct functionality of the components and their proper interaction within the system. The results obtained show that the combination of the methodology and the model provide an approach aligned with the development of reliable web software based on the needs of the ProteGSMile dental clinic.
