Análisis participativo de los actores y contribuviones de la Red de Investigación del Corredor de Conectividad LLaganates-Sangay

Abstract:This research evaluates the contributions of the Llanganates-Sangay Ecological Corridor Research Network (RICCLS) to the coordination of local actors and the management of scientific knowledge produced in the Llanganates-Sangay Ecological Corridor (CELS). A mixed-methods approach was applied, including the characterization of the actors involved, a review of the scientific literature produced in the area, differentiated surveys, and an analysis of the collaboration network. Forty-five actors linked to the network and 273 technical and scientific documents were identified, with a marked focus on biodiversity studies. The network analysis revealed a low-density structure and the concentration of relationships among a few strategic actors. While the RICCLS has promoted participatory activities, dissemination products, and spaces for collaboration among actors, limitations persist related to internal communication and the active involvement of its members. It is concluded that the RICCLS constitutes an emerging initiative with the potential to consolidate itself as an alternative for participatory environmental governance, provided that its organizational, communication and participation mechanisms are strengthened.
