Abstract: This thesis analyzes the motivation behind the rulings issued by Ecuadorian first-level This thesis analyzes the reasoning behind judgments issued by first-level judges in Ecuador, using case No. 15951-2022-00962, concerning the establishment of child support payments for a pregnant woman, as a case study. It examines compliance with constitutional and legal standards for judicial reasoning, ensuring due process and the right to effective judicial protection. Through doctrinal and jurisprudential analysis, the sufficiency and correctness of the reasoning presented in the judgment are evaluated, assessing the application of the principle of procedural truth, sound judgment, and the use of national and international norms on maternity protection. The research demonstrates that the judge acted in accordance with the principle of legality, recognizing the right to child support from conception, pursuant to Article 148 of the Code for Children and Adolescents. It concludes that adequate reasoning in judicial decisions guarantees not only the validity of the process but also the protection of fundamental rights.
