Estudio de la pertinencia curricular del bachillerato técnico en producción agropecuaria desde un enfoque documental: Caso de la Unidad Educativa Agronómico Salesiano de Paute-Azuay

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to evaluate the educational, technical, and contextual relevance of the curriculum for the Technical Baccalaureate in Agricultural Production at the Salesian Agronomic Educational Unit. The study arose from the need to determine the extent to which the curriculum responds to the demands of the productive, sociocultural, and territorial environment in which it is implemented, as well as to the students' needs for comprehensive training and future development. Methodologically, it was developed from a qualitative approach, through a case study focused on the selected institution. The main technique used was the documentary analysis of normative, curricular, and institutional sources related to the Technical Baccalaureate in Agricultural Production. Complementarily, semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten teachers specializing in the program to gather their perceptions of the curriculum's implementation and compare them with the information obtained from the documents. The processing of the information was carried out through thematic analysis, organized according to predefined categories, and subsequently integrated through triangulation between documentary and testimonial sources. The findings showed that the curriculum presents consistent formative and technical foundations, although limitations persist related to its updating, territorial contextualization, and institutional conditions of implementation. It is concluded that its relevance needs to be strengthened through curricular adjustments and contextualized improvements.
