Abstract

Abstract: There are regions in Ecuador that lack Internet connectivity, including some located in urban areas. Due to their topographic, climatic, and social conditions, these areas have not been served by either public or private companies. This is the case of the Lalagachi Alto sector, which suffers from poor Internet and mobile phone coverage. This limitation significantly impacts the residents, as Internet access has become essential for work, education, and entertainment.After analyzing the climatic and geographical background, conducting surveys, and gathering information from the local population, the present proposal aims to offer affordable and reliable Internet access to all residents through the design of a community-based ISP. This community ISP will obtain Internet service from an external provider.
