| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: The objective of this study was to compare levels of depressive symptoms and resilience among college students with and without suicide risk, as well as to analyze the relationship between these variables. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, comparative, and correlational design. The instruments used were the Ad Hoc sociodemographic questionnaire, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), and the Plutchik Suicide Risk Scale, administered to 416 students in the Faculty of Health Sciences at a university in the province of Loja, aged between 18 and 65 years. The results showed that 48.8% were at risk for suicide. Furthermore, significant differences were found in depression levels between students with and without suicide risk (r = 0.58; p < .001) and in resilience (r = 0.13; p = .006); however, the latter revealed a small effect size, contrary to the proposed hypothesis. Furthermore, a positive correlation was observed between depression and suicide risk (rho = .679; p < .001). These findings highlight the importance of strengthening strategies for promotion, prevention, and early detection. | es_ES |
