Abstract: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the main etiological agents associated with persistent infections and, in turn, a complex treatment due to its ability to form biofilms and develop antimicrobial resistance. In this context, the present research aimed to evaluate the antibiofilm activity of honey from stingless bees (Meliponda indecisa and Scaptotrigona vitorum) against MRSA strains. Forty bacterial strains isolated from a public hospital in the city of Loja were analyzed, in addition to positive and negative controls stored in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja. Antibiofilm activity was determined using the microtiter technique on plates, with spectrophotometric readings at 630 nm to quantify biofilm formation. The results showed different levels of absorbance among the honeys evaluated, with less reactivity observed in the samples treated with S. vitorum. Furthermore, the controls used validated the reproducibility and stability of the experimental method. The findings suggest that honey from stingless bees exhibits antibiofilm potential against MRSA strains, representing a promising natural alternative for the development of new antimicrobial strategies.es_ES
