Sistema de gestión de prácticas y voluntariado comunitario para el GAD Parroquial de Pano, cantón Tena, provincia de Napo

Abstract

Abstract: This curricular integration project presents the development of a web-based system designed to improve the management of preprofessional internships and community volunteer activities at the GAD Parroquial de Pano, in Napo Province, Ecuador. Before its implementation, these processes were carried out manually using paper-based documentation, resulting in delays in information management, duplicated records, and difficulties in tracking participants completed hours. To address these issues, a web application was developed based on a modular monolithic architecture following the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern. The backend was implemented using Laravel 12 and MySQL, while the frontend was developed with Blade and Tailwind CSS. In addition, server-side rendering (SSR) was adopted to provide better performance in areas with limited internet connectivity. The project was developed using the Scrum agile methodology, organized into three Sprints. During this process, key features were implemented, including user registration, dynamic validation of available positions, attendance tracking through a virtual clock, and automatic generation of PDF certificates. The evaluation results showed that the system met the proposed objectives. The usability assessment, based on Nielsen s ten usability heuristics, identified only minor issues, which were corrected before deployment. Performance test recorded page load times below two seconds, meeting the RNF-04 non-functional requirement and the quality criteria established by the ISO/IEC 25010 standard. Regarding security, the system incorporates measures based on OWASP recommendations together with a role-based access control (RBAC) model to project information and restrict system functions according to each user s permissions.
