| Abstract: | Abstract: This analysis offers a broad view on the postoperative care of obstetric patients, focusing on pain control through the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and implementing the use of analgesics for pain in situations such as childbirth, cesarean section and uterine curettage in Ecuador, for which a quantitative method and a descriptive analysis were used, relevant patterns were found in the number of surgeries performed and how patients respond to pain relief. The findings show that there are a large number of young patients, most of them experiencing moderate pain after the surgical procedure, especially after childbirth. The most common treatment was the mixture of paracetamol and ketorolac, this treatment is used for its effectiveness in reducing pain and minimizing adverse effects. It allows obtaining an efficacy on the management of acute pain, due to the socialization of drugs with different mechanisms of action, thus reducing the exclusive dependence on opioids and reducing collateral effects. This study, based on current scientific information, establishes a complete and effective approach to postoperative recovery in obstetrics in Ecuador. |
