dc.descriptionResumen: La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar los estilos de conducción, el estado de salud mental y el consumo de alcohol en conductores motorizados del sector sur de la ciudad de Loja. Para ello, se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y alcance descriptivo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 45 conductores motorizados, seleccionados mediante muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Dentro de la recolección de datos, se aplicaron distintos instrumentos, para la parte demográfica un Ad Hoc y para las variables de análisis el Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory (MDSI), el Cuestionario de Salud General de Goldberg (GHQ-28) y el Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). Los hallazgos de investigación revelaron que existe un predominio de los estilos de conducción adaptativos, específicamente la reducción de estrés, y en cuanto a la salud mental la ansiedad e insomnio tuvieron la media más alta con 0,53, seguido de la disfunción social con 0,49, finalmente en cuanto al consumo de alcohol 100% presentó abstinencia o riesgo bajo.es_ES
dc.description.abstractAbstract: This study aimed to evaluate driving styles, mental health status, and alcohol consumption among motor vehicle drivers in the southern sector of the city of Loja. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive design. The sample consisted of 45 drivers, selected through non-probability convenience sampling. Data collection involved the use of various instruments: an *ad hoc* questionnaire for demographic data, and the Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory (MDSI), Goldberg s General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) for the variables under analysis. Research findings revealed a predominance of adaptive driving styles specifically stress reduction while regarding mental health, anxiety and insomnia showed the highest mean score (0.53), followed by social dysfunction (0.49); finally, regarding alcohol consumption, 100% of the participants fell into the abstinence or low-risk category.es_ES
