| Abstract: | Abstract: This research aimed to evaluate driving styles, mental health, and alcohol consumption among motorized drivers in Daule canton, province of Guayas, during 2025. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a sample of 52 drivers. Data were collected through an ad hoc sociodemographic questionnaire, the Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory (MDSI), the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). The results showed a predominance of cautious and stress-reduction driving styles. Regarding mental health, the dimensions with the highest scores were somatic symptoms and anxiety-insomnia. With respect to alcohol consumption, 90,4% of participants were classified in the abstinence or low-risk category, although a small group showed risky and harmful alcohol consumption. It is concluded that, although the evaluated drivers show a tendency toward adaptive driving patterns and low-risk alcohol consumption, there are indicators that require preventive attention in order to strengthen road safety and the well-being of this population. |
