| Abstract: | Abstract:This thesis analyzes the academic preferences of Law graduates from the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) and their connection to Sustainable Development Goal 16 "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions" based on a study of Judgment No. 0166-14-EP issued by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. The general objective was to identify the factors influencing UTPL Law graduates to develop preferences for specific areas of legal science and future specialization. The research employed a socio-legal and theoretical-deductive approach, underpinned by systematic, exegetical, analytical, and synthetic methods. Strategies such as documentary record-keeping, judgment analysis, and online research were utilized, enabling an examination of the relationship between legal training, competencies acquired during the academic process, and social challenges linked to institutional strengthening for access to justice. The results reveal a marked preference for Constitutional Law and Criminal Law, as well as an interest in reinforcing methodologies centered on case studies and legal research. Furthermore, the analysis of the selected judgment highlighted the tensions existing between ordinary jurisdiction and indigenous justice, underscoring the need to consolidate institutional mechanisms that ensure legal certainty, effective judicial protection, and respect for collective rights. The study concludes that modern legal education must foster the strengthening of inclusive institutions and the effective realization of the commitments set forth in the 2030 Agenda. |
