| Abstract: | Abstract: The objective of this research was to create a sensory immersive theater experience that serves as an artistic and educational vehicle for the dissemination and reinterpretation of Ecuador s indigenous cultures. For this reason, the theatrical production *Kimena* was created and presented; it consists of three segments inspired by the Kichwa, Waorani, and Chachi peoples, and integrates multisensory stimuli, natural materials, and audiovisual resources. This research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach grounded in artistic practice, involving the administration of twenty-two surveys and fifteen semi-structured interviews with audience members. The results showed a favorable reception: scent and sound were the stimuli with the greatest impact, as most attendees recognized the cultural references and noted that the portrayal within the performance was respectful, leading to an emotional connection and a shift or reinforcement in their thinking about cultural diversity. It is concluded that sensory immersive theater is an effective tool for bringing contemporary audiences closer to cultural heritage, provided it is accompanied by mediation strategies. |
