Abstract: Abstract: This research analyzed the use of the PhET virtual laboratory and its relationship with motivation and academic performance regarding the topic of Uniform Rectilinear Motion (URM). The study was conducted at the Virgen del Cisne Private Educational Unit (La Libertad Extension) in La Libertad Canton, Santa Elena Province, with a sample of 35 students: 20 from the Science Baccalaureate program and 15 from the Technical Baccalaureate program in Networks and Telecommunications. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (using pre-tests and post-tests) was employed, involving two distinct groups. Research methods included analytical and inductive approaches, utilizing bibliographic research and fieldwork techniques. Likert-scale questionnaires were administered at both the beginning and the end of the study. Data were processed using descriptive and inferential statistics without assuming specific distribution patterns. The results showed that the group using PhET demonstrated greater interest and motivation and achieved a better understanding of URM; they also showed a greater willingness to use technology. However, initial differences between the groups were observed. The study concludes that PhET serves as a complementary educational resource capable of fostering active learning experiences, provided it is integrated through proper planning, teacher guidance, and continuous assessment.
