Abstract

Abstract: From an ecological perspective, this study analyzes the growth and development of public green spaces in the Ciudad Alegría neighborhood, located in the city of Loja. The main reason for this study is to address the problems in the area that have led to these abandoned green spaces, which have a negative impact on both the neighborhood and its surrounding landscape. The aim is to address these problems through a landscape design resulting from a thorough analysis of the area, understanding its aspects and ecological context to arrive at an optimal design for the space. This design considers social integration by users through participatory techniques such as surveys, site visits, and the collection of observations, among others. The SWOT analysis conducted allowed us to identify the main critical aspects and opportunities to integrate into the green spaces. The results demonstrate that the revitalization of green spaces helps increase the connectivity of urban spaces with ecology and landscaping, optimizes environmental comfort, and promotes the use of public green space, thus contributing to the creation of an optimal and comfortable urban environment.
