| Abstract: | Abstract: The objective of this research was to analyze driving styles and mental health in motorized drivers in the city of San Miguel de los Bancos, Pichincha province. The study employed a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional-descriptive approach. Data collection methods included the Ad Hoc sociodemographic questionnaire, the Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory (MDSI), the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). The sample consisted of 32 drivers with professional licenses: C, D, and E. The results showed that the predominant driving style was cautious (M = 4.37), while the anxious style had the lowest mean. Regarding mental health, somatic symptoms registered the highest mean (M = 2.88), while depressive symptoms had the lowest. With respect to alcohol consumption, abstinence predominated, and a low percentage of risky drinking was identified. These results are favorable. However, they also constitute a call to promote prevention strategies that encourage responsible and safe driving styles. |
