Abstract: Abstract: This research analyzes the reasoning provided in judgments issued by trial-level judges in Ecuador, based on a study of case No. 01333-2023-09387 concerning the extraordinary acquisitive prescription of ownership. The objective was to determine whether the judgment meets the constitutional standards for sufficient and proper reasoning established in the Constitution and further developed by the Constitutional Court. A qualitative methodology was employed, utilizing a legal-dogmatic approach and an analysis of case law. The results demonstrate coherence among the facts, evidence, applicable legal norms, and the judicial decision, thereby satisfying parameters of reasonableness and legal certainty. Furthermore, it was determined that there are no defects in the reasoning and that the decision reflects a rational exercise of the judicial function. The study concludes that the analyzed judgment constitutes a proper fulfillment of the duty to provide reasons, strengthens due process, and contributes to the study of the quality of legal argumentation in judicial decisions within the Ecuadorian system.
