| Abstract: | Abstract: This study analyzes the relationship between Constitutional Law, Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), and the protection of the human right to water, based on an examination of Judgment No. 376-17-EP/24 issued by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. The research explores the significance of the Sustainable Development Goals as international instruments aimed at ensuring dignified living conditions and promoting the protection of fundamental rights. Furthermore, it provides a doctrinal and legal review of the rights safeguarded by SDG 6, particularly those linked to access to drinking water, sanitation, health, and a dignified life. Through the analysis of the selected judgment, the study identifies the constitutional criteria applied to determine whether rights violations occurred, as well as the reparation measures adopted to restore the affected guarantees. The findings highlight the importance of constitutional justice as a mechanism for the effective protection of human rights and underscore the need to strengthen public policies aimed at achieving the targets set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. |
