| Abstract: | Abstract: The research project, titled "Reasoning in Judgments Issued by First-Instance Judges in Ecuador," analyzes judgment No. 17371-2020-XXXXX regarding a constitutional action for access to public information. The general objective is to analyze and evaluate the correctness and sufficiency of the legal reasoning provided by the judge at the trial level. The study sample consists of the first-instance judgment and utilizes the "Puzzle Project" methodology proposed by the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja. To obtain appropriate results, the analytical method was employed; this method allows the judgment to be broken down into its constituent parts, thereby facilitating a more comprehensive study. The techniques used included argument structuring, content analysis, and the study of judicial reasoning. Two questionnaires served as the research instruments: one assessing the standard of sufficiency of reasoning and the other evaluating the correctness of the reasoning. It is worth noting that the instruments and methodology employed yielded appropriate results that fulfilled the general and specific objectives established at the outset of the research. |
