Abstract: Abstract:This project arises from the need to address family experiences marked by emotional repression, silence, and unspoken domestic violence. The research highlights the difficulty of communicating repressed emotions within family and cultural contexts where remaining silent has become an inherited practice. Through autoethnography and research-creation, an artistic project comprising painting, archival material, and installation was developed, transforming personal experiences into images and symbols capable of conveying emotions non-verbally. The findings suggest that art can serve as a space for analysis, catharsis, and healing, enabling the reinterpretation of painful memories and fostering empathy in the viewer by bridging the gap between individual experience and a collective context. The work contributes to both the artistic and social spheres by bringing issues related to family-based repression to light, thereby promoting spaces for reflection and dialogue. Furthermore, it positions art as a tool for emotional liberation and collective transformation, offering others a way to recognize themselves in these experiences and discover, through artistic creation, a means for expression, resistance, and healing.
