Abstract

Abstract: This research explores the relationship between emotion, memory, and visual perception in the context of low vision, resulting in a series of oil paintings. The study was conducted using a research-creation framework, in which the practice of painting serves as a tool for generating knowledge. The theoretical framework was built upon three pillars neurology, cognitive psychology, and color psychology which facilitate an understanding of how emotion and memory modify visual experience. The methodological design included production phases framed within what is termed an "aesthetics of the diffuse." As part of the analysis of the results, the series *Atravesadas por la memoria y el cuerpo* ("Pierced by Memory and the Body") is presented, in which color, texture, and blur are examined as records of emotional experience. During the creative process, the research led to the identification of a significant finding regarding perceptual alterations; these did not stem from the low-vision condition that was the primary focus of the project, but rather from a separate episode. This discovery helped clarify the initial phenomenon under study without invalidating the author s theoretical framework.
