Abstract: Abstract: This thesis examines the quality of the reasoning in judgments issued by trial-level judges in Ecuador, specifically regarding compliance with constitutional and aspirational quality standards. The general objective is to "identify the extent to which the duty to provide reasons for trial-level judgments in Ecuador is fulfilled, as well as the structural, formative, and organizational factors influencing their quality and adequacy." The methodology was qualitative, documentary, and analytical, incorporating a study of Judgment No. 01204-2024-XXXX (2024). Two evaluation instruments were used comprising 48 items based on Likert and dichotomous scales derived from Constitutional Court standards (Judgment 1158-17-EP/21) and specialized legal doctrine; the study integrated doctrinal and jurisprudential analysis. The results indicate that the analyzed judgment exceeds the minimum threshold of sufficiency and achieves a high level regarding the aspirational standard of proper reasoning (average score of 4.8/5). It demonstrates logical coherence, correct evidentiary assessment, respect for privacy, and prioritization of the best interests of the child. No serious defects in reasoning were detected, and the judgment has become final.
