| Abstract: | Abstract: The constitutional guarantee of *Habeas Data* serves as an instrument for the right to be forgotten in Ecuador; this study analyzes Judgment No. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, issued by the Civil Judicial Unit in the Machala Canton regarding a constitutional matter. Using a method for analyzing the reasoning behind judicial decisions, the study evaluated the sufficiency and correctness of the ruling's rationale against standards established by the Constitutional Court in Judgment No. 1158-17-EP/21. The results demonstrate that the judgment fully complies with requirements for normative and factual substantiation, without exhibiting any recognized deficiencies in reasoning. The presiding judge appropriately balanced the principle of procedural publicity against the plaintiff's right to honor, informational self-determination, and life project, ordering the concealment of their data within the SATJE system. The study concludes that *Habeas Data* constitutes the ideal procedural mechanism for giving effect to the right to be forgotten within the judicial sphere. |
